History of Hogg’s Automotive Training Academy, Inc.

Mr. and Mrs. Hogg had the vision of opening Hogg’s Automotive Training Academy, Inc. as a proprietary post-secondary school. It began with their desire to assist individuals by training them in basic automotive skills at their business. For the past 20 years, Mr. and Mrs. Hogg have taught these basic automotive skills to a handful of men. They have now made it their commitment to continue to do so, on a much larger scale. By opening Hogg’s Automotive Training Academy, Inc., to serve former offenders, individuals with no trade/skill, and youth will be able to gain marketable skills in the workplace and life.

Hogg’s Automotive Service was started at 214 Woodhaven Blvd., Ste. B in Duncanville, Texas. We have been in business since February 1992. It is a family-owned and operated business specializing in Volvos. Hogg’s Automotive Service is a minority-owned Volvo repair shop with fourteen years of experience. We specialize in automotive service technology where we rented and sold Volvos and Volvo parts. This service includes air conditioning, heating, ignition repair, body repair/replacement, and detailing. Hogg’s Automotive Service business uses hydraulic lifts, jacks, engine hoists, air conditioning diagnostic equipment, and diagnostic computer applications for engine tune-up, preventive maintenance, and other services. Additionally, it offered registration and title services for vehicles.

In 2004, Hogg’s Automotive Service was approved by the Texas Workforce Commission Career Schools and Colleges. A secured facility was opened at 2321 ML King Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75215 to serve individuals with no trade/skills, youth, and former felons to help prevent school dropouts and to reduce the recidivism rate. In 2023 Hogg’s Automotive Training Service moved to 802 S. Buckner Blvd. Dallas, Texas 75217 to better serve the individuals in and near surrounding areas. Hogg’s Automotive Training Academy, Inc. was established to assist eligible individuals who could benefit from an intensive training program operated in a group setting in a residential and non-residential center.

General Information

The Hogg’s Automotive Training Academy, Inc. offers an Apprenticeship Program in General Automotive and Life Skills (behavior modification) classes. Hogg’s Automotive Training Academy, Inc., offers certificate programs designed to meet the needs of at-risk youth, former offenders, and individuals with no trade/skills. Those individuals who do not have a desire to attend college. Hogg’s Automotive Training Academy, Inc. has partnered with Tomorrow Purpose to offer a Literacy and Wilkerson Center to offer a GED for individuals who did not complete high school.

Mission Statement

Hogg’s Automotive Training Academy, Inc. is an entry-level apprenticeship automotive training program. It is designed to provide former felons, individuals desiring a trade/skill, and youth with immediate automotive repair skills to enter the job market with a marketable skill.
